MY STORY
17 year old Kaiya Buffelen has been interested in music her whole life. She discovered her love for singing at 6 years old, started voice and piano lessons at 8, guitar at 9, violin at 10 and she began writing songs and producing in Logic Pro at 11.

Kaiya has been performing in bands and as a solo artist in venues across western Washington since she was 9. She released her first ever single at age 11, and won first place in the Maple Valley Idol singing contest at 12.

On November 26th, 2021, Kaiya released her debut EP titled "Flashback." Her next release came in early summer of 2023, which was a single titled "Clay World." Her latest release was a collection of songwriting drafts and covers dusted off from her Iphone's voice memos app. Accordingly titled "voice memos." This display of raw emotion proved effective in captivating listeners.

Since these releases, Kaiya has continued to steadily improve her songwriting and producing skills, putting her on an impressive and exciting trajectory.

Her next plans include two albums, one of which she wrote over the COVID-19 shutdown. She took these songs and rewrote much of them at her current age of 17, and plans to release them once they are finished!

In addition to her music, Kaiya was highly involved with her brother on his viral youtube channel EvanMCGaming (approaching 1 million subscribers) in 2020-2021. She created music tracks for some of his videos, as well as helping with the writing and storytelling on his in-depth Minecraft documentary style videos.

Other hobbies Kaiya enjoys are creating short films, color guard, writing poetry, drawing and painting, sewing, and spending time with friends.

Kaiya has a few goals with her music creation: Help people feel heard, be involved in her community, and help other small artists however she can.

Kaiya appreciates any and all support in this journey, and hopes that people enjoy what she creates from her life experiences. She hopes to one day perform for large crowds.
